If you’ve been in the Internet Marketing world for any length of time, you’ve probably heard the term “Shiny Object Syndrome.”

It refers to a tendency to get easily distracted by the “newest” thing that comes along.

It sometimes refers to stacking up on products and courses and the latest product launches…

Without ever implementing any of them.

In fact, I used to do that for years – before I finally had my breakthrough online. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on ebooks, courses, membership sites, etc…

Now, I wouldn’t say that I didn’t implement any of this knowledge, I did, but not all of it. Most of the time I would just purchase a product and forget about it.

I was buying so many of them – there’s no way I would have enough time to go through it before I get distracted by the next shiny thing.

Sad, but true.

If you’ve been in this industry for a little while, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Usually, it’s newbies who are labeled as having Shiny Object Syndrome.

But it can affect veteran internet marketers as well, I know that for a fact.

So here are a few rules that you should follow to stay away from the Shiny Object Syndrome:

1. Don’t buy a new product or course unless you can implement it and earn back the investment, from that knowledge, before the bill is due.

2. Instead, focus on the basics: building your list, marketing your existing products, building a funnel if you don’t have one yet, or optimizing your existing funnels if you do.

3. Create a gameplan and get laser focused.

4. Put your blinders on – and don’t pay attention to any new product launches that are going on, unless it’s personally recommended by your mentor, or you know that it will directly benefit what you’re already doing.

5. Oh, and one more thing: make sure you have someone who is keeping you accountable.

Always remember, imperfect action is always better than perfect inaction. It’s time to set aside all distractions, take action and implement what you’ve learned!

All you need to succeed is within you. Dig deep to discover it.
